Hello! This is Maria Sabina here and I’m super excited to be a guest designer for the Tonic blog today.
I absolutely love stamping, coloring and mixing images from different stamp sets. Sometimes I like to play with images and I try to give them a different feeling.
For example, I turned a banner into a list that the little mouse is reading.
I used images Warm Cocoa Wishes and Celebrate Sentiments stamp sets and I applied a masking technique to create this super simple scene.
How I made this card
- First I stamped the banner stamp from Garden Party Stamps – Celebrate Sentiments on white cardstock.
- Next, I stamped the banner again on a post-it note and trimmed that with fine scissors.
- I placed the mask over the main stamped banner.
- Because I wanted to give the illusion of the mouse reading a long list, I stamped the big mouse behind the banner stamp.
- To add a little cute detail, I also stamped the little mouse at the bottom of the banner, as if he is hiding behind the long banner.
- Once I was done with stamping, I removed the post-it note and the result looked so nice! Like a brand new design.
- To apply colours I used Nuvo Hybrid inks (listed below and Nuvo Alcohol markers.
Tips:
- What you stamp first and mask, it will be the full stamped and focal point image.
- Once you mask the first stamped image, anything you stamp over it will be partially stamped.
- Do the stamping and masking first and once you remove the masking, then you can start colouring.
- By doing the masking technique you are able to create new designs and dimensions.
That’s all for today,
Thanks for stopping by
Maria Sabina.
