Hey friends, it’s Kathleen back with you again and today I have two more cards to share with you. I don’t know why, but I just can’t get enough of the colour scheme of purples, pinks and silver for my Tonic projects! With today’s projects I want to show you two ways for how you can use your Nuvo Drops and Shimmer Powders that you might not have tried yet!
In case you’ve missed the previous ones, you can check them out here (shaker cards), here (stenciled backgrounds) and here (a scrapbooking layout using Nuvo products).
How to create a card like this:
- First, apply water to an A2 sized watercolour card. Then add a little bit of the Lilac Waterfall Shimmer Powder.
- Use a metal die or an electronic die-cutting machine to die cut a shape that has a few open spaces that can then be filled in with Nuvo Dream Drops and Jewel Drops.
- Adhere the die cut shape to your dry watercolour card. Use your favourite colours of Dream Drops and Jewel Drops to fill in some or all of the open spaces. You can use a Craft Pick or needle to push the liquid into the edges.
- When the colour has dried, add a sentiment of your choice to your card and embellish it to your liking. Adhere the finished panel to a white card base.
I used a “love” die from my stash and cut it from Silver Screen Glitter Card. And of course, my favourite Crystal Gems had to make an appearance, too.
* Make sure to get yours here if you are in the US and here for UK/European readers.
How to create a card like this:
- Begin by adding a splash of the Lilac Waterfall Shimmer Powder to a white modelling or embossing paste. Mix the powder into the paste.
- Apply the coloured paste through a stencil (for my card I used the Petal Pattern stencil and let dry.
- Use Dream Drops or Crystal Drops in coordinating colours and add them to the centers of the flowers. On my card I used Love Potion, Cloud 9 and Fairy Wings.
- When everything has dried, add a die cut sentiment to the card. For my card I used a “happy” die from my stash that I die cut from Frosted Silver card.
I really like how these two cards turned out and I hope you will give the techniques I shared today a try, too! They are both so much fun and let you stretch your supply even more!
Thanks a lot for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
Xo, Kathleen
