Hello there! Leanne West here and I’m very happy to be a guest blogger for Tonic Studios today. I’ve been paper crafting and card making for almost 20 years now and I always love to try out new products. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to play with some of Tonic Studios newest stamps, stencils, and Nuvo Dream Drops. I think they all work together nicely to create a complete look on any project.
My card today features adorable hedgehog images and a sentiment from the Little Something for Harry stamp set. I used Craft Perfect Ultra Smooth Card for this project. I found this smooth card to result in beautiful crisp clean colour when stamping and stencilling. I stamped the images in Acorn Brown Nuvo Hybrid ink and coloured with alcohol markers. I used a die from the Scalloped Circle Layering set to create a base to arrange the hedgehogs on. I used Lotus Flower Nuvo Hybrid ink and a Nuvo Dual Ended Blender Brush to add colour to the scalloped circle before adhering the images.
To add interest to the card, I created a stencilled background panel that is cut slightly narrower than the A2 sized card base. For this, I used the Linking Rings stencil, Mint Macaroon Nuvo Hybrid ink and a Nuvo Blending Sponge I used a pouncing technique to apply the ink evenly over the entire stencil. For a little embellishment to the stencilled background, I added some Fairy Wings Nuvo Dream Drops.
I adhered the stencilled panel flat to the card front and popped up the scallop circle with dimensional foam adhesive. For the sentiment, I stamped “a little something” with Acorn Brown Hybrid ink and “for you” with Mint Macaroon Hybrid ink As a final finishing touch, I added a little sparkle to the flower images with a Nuvo Aqua Flow Glitter Gloss Pen .
Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope I have offered a little inspiration for using some of these fabulous new Tonic Studios products and you will consider giving them a try.
Happy crafting!
Leanne
