Hello everyone, this is Bibi Cameron and I’m thrilled to share my first blog post here in the new Tonic Studios Blog! This is a space created to share ideas and inspiration using exclusive Tonic Products and tutorials with new ways to use them.
This is also a dream come true as I always wanted to create a space like this for Tonic and my happiness couldn’t be greater because I finally can help to make it possible. I really hope you treasure this space as an endless source of inspiration for you.
For today I made a C6 standard American size ( 4-1/4 x 5-1/2) card using a Magnificent Magnolia Stamp set. I used Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens to stamp and to add colours to the images, I also splattered the background and I have fun creating a beautiful subtle no-line watercolour effects.
This card has a lot of details and I filmed the process in a video to share this idea with you. I hope you like them!
To stamp the large florals I used Spiced Ginger and mango Mimosa Nuvo Aqua Flow pens.
I also used Amber Ocre, Pistachio Green, Soft Suede new Hybrid Inks colours to stamp the foliage. These new colours are from the April Trend Collection by Tonic called: Woodland Walk.
I splattered the panel using Clear Water Nuvo Aqua Flow Pen, Pressed Olive Nuvo Aqua flow pen, white acrylic paint and gold speckles with a Nuvo Midas Touch.
For this card, I also used the new Sunset Yellow Butterflies. I’m loving them to use as embellishment although this is tiny confetti. They are so pretty!
For the sentiment, I used a die included in the Tonic Craft kit #21 that will be unboxed today over the Tonic Offical Facebook Group Here at 4:00 pm
I’m also preparing a video to show you the content of this kit that it is better than never!!! So you defo need to stay tuned as it will be available on my Youtube Channel soon! Phew, so many things I want to share with you… I need to stretch the days!!
I also love to make framed cards to step the design a little bit more and I used A2 layering Rectangles die set. They are the perfect size to make C6 standard American size ( 4-1/4 x 5-1/2) to 5×7 inches cards or larger if you want.
I simply die cut the watercolour panel and then I stick the frame down on a soft blue cardstock panel using double-sided adhesive foam and when it was in place I glued the centrepiece in place.
I also added sparkle by using embellishments such as Nuvo Aztec Gold Glitter, Sunset Yellow Butterflies Confetti, and Crystal Gems.
As a bonus, I couldn’t resist and I used Yellow Bamboo Speciality Paper to make a matching envelope for this card.
I used an old envelope die by Tonic Studios called Sweet Nothing Delicate Embrace. Tonic offers a similar envelope die called Christmas Envelope that you can use to make envelopes for any of your cards using fancy papers.
