Hi there, I’m Maria Sabina a young lady from Romania with a passion for paper crafting and other crafts. I’ve been crafting for my blog since 2009. I like challenging myself with new techniques and different styles but stamping, die-cutting and colouring are my top favourite things to do. When I don’t spend time crafting I enjoy watching movies, travelling the globe and trying out new challenges and flavours.
I absolutely love working with Nuvo range product by Tonic Studios. It is my favourite and although I rarely use glitter, I wanted to try something new for today by customizing texture paste.
This technique is very easy and you get two in one: a watercolour background and texture from the glitter mixed with the embellishment mousse.
I used Atlantis Burst Nuvo Shimmer Powder, Nuvo Gold Pure Sheen Glitter and Nuvo Citrus Green Embellishment Mousse to do this. You can use these products in any colour.
Step by Step…
STEP 1: Pick your favourite Nuvo embellishment mousse and mix it with your favourite Nuvo pure sheen glitter and shimmer powder. Mix until getting a smooth paste. If the paste is too dry spritz a little bit of water over the texture paste and mix again.
STEP 2: Use a stencil or create your own by using dies and thick cardstock. I used dies included in the craft kit #5 to make my own stencil and give you an extra idea.
Apply the texture paste over the stencil with a spatula.
STEP 3: The texture paste will look really nice once you remove the stencil but to activate the shimmer powder that was added to the embellishment mousse you need to add some water over the stencilled background using a spray bottle.
Leave the stencilled background to dry before turning it into your project. Let it air dry instead of using a heat gun.
I also added a topper to this card. I used a circle die and a sentiment from Whimsical Frame Stamp & Die Set – Sending Big Hugs.
I embellished with Gold Metallic thread and sequins.
That’s all for today, I hope you like this idea.
Thanks for stopping by!
Maria Sabina
