Hey there! Daniel West here from Del & Artie. Thanks for joining me today on the Tonic Studios Blog. I recently found out that Christmas decor starts showing up in stores here in Rhode Island, in May. Shocking, I know, but who says Christmas celebration has to stay put in December? The new Merry & Bright release celebrates a beautiful color combo more than Christmas in July, but I couldn’t help but make the connection with my project and this release.
The Kirby and Lulu’s Wash Day Adorables stamp set by Tonic Studios has a really cute image of kitties hanging on a clothes line in socks and underwear. I imagined them outside in these Merry & Bright colors and couldn’t resist making a Christmas in July card.

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
I decided to create a card panel with a watercolor background using the new Empress Teal Aqua Flow Pen from Merry & Bright set.
- First, I pressed out some of the color from the pen onto my Tim Holtz Non-Stick Mat. I sprayed it down with some water, and pressed my watercolor paper into it until completely covered.
- After it dried, I covered it with the Petal Pattern Stencil and the Honeydew Mousse for some pearlescent shine.
- Next, I stamped out the kitties onto some Craft Perfect Ultra Smooth cardstock. I colored them in with alcohol markers.
- Then, Using the coordinating die, I cut out the image of the kitties and set it aside.
- After the Honeydew Mousse dried, I trimmed down my panel to 4 x 5 1/4 inches and die cut a circle out of the middle.
- Then I adhered some Heavyweight Construction Acetate behind the panel to create a shaker window.
- Next, to make a shaker mix, I poured some Tropical Oasis sequins and some Mermaid Parade Stars onto the center front of an A2-sized card base.
- Then, I added some foam tape to the back of the window panel and popped it onto the front of the card base.
- I stamped out the sentiment “Meow means I love you” onto a piece of the watercolored background with Moroccan Teal Hybrid Ink.
- Finally, I adhered the kitties and the sentiment to the front of the card with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and called her done!
Thanks for joining me today! I hope you enjoyed this Merry & Bright shaker card as much as I did. I have a list of supplies in a grid below for your convenience. What are your favorite items from the Merry & Bright release? Let me know in the comments below!
