Hi everybody, it’s Lou Sims here. Today I’m sharing a tag shaped Christmas card idea using Wondrous Woods Silhouette Tag & Wallet and Mythical Glade layering dies. The adorable reindeer image from the Celebrate Success stamps set.

I also share a  video tutorial to share details about the card making process and to show you the products in action.

So I coloured the die cuts with Nuvo Hybrid Diamond inks and also Nuvo Creative Markers.

ABOUT MY CARD

• I began by creating the card blank
• I then applied colours to the background with Nuvo Diamond Hybrid inks in Amber Ochre (part of Woodland Walk collection), Siren Blue & Midnight Surf (new colours from Blue Blossom collection).
• Using the same colours, I also coloured the die-cut sentiment.

I’m working hard to improve my photography skills and  I wanted to share with you a close up of this project!

So  I added extra detail and layering by using the wallet die from Wondrous Woods.

I simply die cut the beautiful tree detail into the wallet adding a further third layer.

I coloured the backing layers with Nuvo Creative markers and behind the front panel, I added a layer of vellum.

Using the wallet die, also helps create depth/layers without having to use 3D foam …!

I stamped the reindeer 3 times using  Nuvo Black Shadow hybrid ink.

I coloured with Nuvo Creative Markers and added to my tag card in different places: waving from the top, peeking out of the side and finally, added to the front.

The stamped sentiment – Happy Birthday from the herd – has been masked to only have “from the herd” to then be added to the bottom of the die-cut sentiment.

Now the whole sentiment reads “Winter Wishes & Snow Flake Kisses from the herd”.

I thought it was a fun way to use the stamped sentiment with the die-cut one which now means my card can be sent by more than one person …!

This would be a great card for the grandchildren to send to their Grandparents at Christmas.

NUVO CREATIVE MARKERS

All the Nuvo Creative markers come in packs of 3 or as Tonic Studios calls them, trios. Each trio consists of a light, medium & darker shade which blend together beautifully. Below I have listed the colours I have used in my project:

• Natural Browns Trio – 461 Hazelnut Truffle, 463 Vintage Walnut, 465 Rich Mahogany
• Stormy Greys Trio – 491 Black Smoke
• Honey Amber Trio – 479 Hay Bale
• Rich Reds Trio – 377 Fresh Watermelon, 379 Strawberry Jam, 381 Black Cherry
• Pink Flamingo Trio – 450 Sweet Blossom, 452 Pink Taffy

• NEW Blue Blossom diamond hybrid ink pads – Midnight Surf & Siren Blue
• Woodland Walk diamond hybrid ink pads – Amber Ochre
