Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a creative week! I wanted to show you some simple ideas today about using Nuvo products to create texture.
Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Texture
Some people might feel nervous using products that seem messy- but this is such a fabulous product and it cleans away easily too.
I’ve been using Mother of Pearl Embellishment Mousse as its a delicate colour and goes with anything! I’ve applied it through the Falling Snowflakes Stencil.
You can even use an old bank card to spread a layer through then just wash the stencil well afterwards. Leave it to dry and you can add lots of other products over it.
NUVO AQUA FLOw PENS TEXTURE
I decided to use some Aqua Flow pens to create a watercolour wash and really help those snowflakes to pop.
I used the Aqua Splash colour from Summer Holiday Aqua Flow pens pack and scribbled it onto an acrylic block, added water and just painted it on in a messy way.
You can see the rough texture created from just adding more layers of colour when the Aqua Flow colour dried; super easy!
COLOURING
Next up was using Nuvo Alcohol Marker pens to colour the main images.
The stamp set ‘Jolly Marshmallow Snowman’ but I wanted you to see that if you take the sentiment off, it could be a card for any time of year- maybe a ‘let’s get together’ kind of card or ‘how are you’?
I stamped the images with Nuvo Black Shadow ink which is perfect for water-colouring and alcohol inks.
Colouring with Nuvo Alcohol Markers isn’t hard. You get a really nice depth of colour using darker shades of the pens and usefully they are sold in threes so you have a light, medium and dark shade in each colour. Check out the whole range here and choose colours that you love!
Once I’d made the background and coloured the main image, it was time to add the details.
I stamped and used Embossing powder in Glacier White to make the sentiment stand out. All that was left was to add some lovely layers of Ocean Blue, Chilli Red and Blossom Pink Craft Perfect Cardstock then just add the final layer of texture using Nuvo Drops in Apple Green; all bright and Christmassy!
