Jolly Marshmallow Snowman with Nicky Meek

Hello everybody, this is Nicky Meek with you today for Tonic Studios and I’m thrilled to Guest Design for this wonderful company and I’m excited to start working with their gorgeous stamp collections and an extensive range of other products.

I have two cards for you today that feature the brand new stamp set called Jolly Marshmallow Snowman.  I can’t tell you how fun this stamp set is especially because there are endless design arrangements you can do with it.

two layouts you might find inspiring

Give the illusion of sugar everywhere

For this first card, I took a panel of pale pink cardstock and ink blended a focal point with white pigment ink then splashed on white acrylic paint loosened with a drop of water.

Once the panel was dry,  I applied Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White and Bubblegum Blush.

I wanted to give the illusion of sugar everywhere and that the mug of hot chocolate had just been made.

This panel was attached to a 110lb white cardstock base and set aside.

I stamped all the images on Bristol Smooth cardstock using waterproof brown ink and watercolor painted everything.

Some points were highlighted with a white gel pen, they were backed with foam tape and applied to the scene for a highly dimensional look.

Finally, the sentiment was stamped to a strip of cardstock and also backed with foam tape and applied.  Card complete!

ADD A sense of freshly baked cookies

For my second card, I went with the same basic theme of making it look like it had just been prepared and there’s sugar sprinkled around.

This time I went with warmer colours and a sense of freshly baked cookies!

I achieved this by taking a panel of kraft cardstock and ink blending the edges with brown pigment ink to create a focal point.

Again, I splashed up the panel with loosened white acrylic paint and added both Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White and Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard.

The sentiment was stamped and the panel attached to a white 110lb white cardstock base and set to one side.

All the images were stamped on Bristol Smooth cardstock and I watercolour painted them.

I then fussy cut them, backed with varying amounts of foam tape and applied to the scene for some impressive dimension.

Adding highlights with a white gel pen  helped me to bring everything to life.

Last but not least, I grabbed the bottle of Nuvo Crystal Glitter Drops in White Blizzard once again and I had fun glittering up several points on all the featured images for that essential and magical Christmas twinkle.

Here’s a final little look close up look

I’m so grateful you visited the blog and read about these fun cards today.

I hope they have left you inspired and I hope to be back with you before too long with a new project.

Happy crafting!
